What sites does zigback ban?
As a general rule, we ban web sites that has content, direct or indirect, that is not appropriate for kids. Because of the risks associated with instant
messaging, peer-to-peer networking, and social networking in general; we ban those types of web sites as well. We feel that parents have the right
and should take the lead in introducing their kids to those types of web site and internet functionality; so that they can decide on the best approach
to educate, and monitor their child's use. We have published a list of the most common web sites that parents have asked specifically if we ban them or
not, but the entire list exceeds several thousand. You can view our partial banned sites list here.

If there is a web site that is not currently on your approved list, will you add it?
Yes; you may email the url to us at infot@zigback.com. We will evaluate it to determine if it meets our criteria for approved web sites, and if it does
we will add it to the list. Due to the high volume of request, please allow 3 - 5 days so that we can adequately review the proposed web site.

Why are certain sites banned; even if parents are okay with them?
Zigback.com is an on-line environment created for parents around the world to feel comfortable with the web sites that their kids are visiting, without having visited them all. We recognize that parents may have different views and beliefs, but we strive to maintain a consistency that meets a basic fundamental belief and respect for child safety that persists in the overwhelming majority of parents world-wide.

My kids are teenagers; do you have links and other content targeting their age group?
Yes; depending upon what type of web sites your kids likes to frequent, we do have web sites appropriate for junior teens. We have links to museums, tutoring, on-line games, videos featuring national television programming, music featuring national television programming, and many more exciting sites.

Which internet browser works bets with zigback?
zigback.com works with IE6 or IE7. Currently, these are the only two browsers that we support.  We are currently enhancing our services to work with all current and future web browsers.  We will be making a big announcement at the appropriate time.

Will zigback keep my kids from clicking on ads and going to sites I don’t want them to?
Absolutely! If the advertiser's web site is not on our approved list; their web site will not load when the ad is clicked. This eliminates much of the
opportunity for you kid to get to web sites that you may not know anything about. Typically we ban all url's related to advertisers, unless the advertisement is imbedded in a web page; and it's presence is required to load the web page.

Why does zigback ban search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, etc?
We recognize that search engines can be an invaluable tool for finding information on the internet, but we also recognize that search engines
provides unlimited access to all types of information and web sites; many of which we don't want kids exposed to unsupervised. As part of our
"virtual wall" environment that we have created, we greatly enhance and secure our environment by banning search engines.

Does Zigback accept orders from outside the US?
Yes; currently we welcome and service customers from many countries outside of the US; Canada, UK, Australia, and Japan to name a few.

Why don't I see social networking, P2P, file sharing, and other sites that older kids like to use in the list?

We recognize that kids at different ages, have very different Internet habits and interest.  Our primary focus was kids junior teens under 12, and our commitment is to not allow those types of sites to this age group.  Because there has been such phenomenal success of our current offerings, and also a very high demand for more sites for 13 - 18 year olds; we will soon be launching a separate area within Zigback.com for an older-aged teen.  Please continue to check back for its release, and our press announcement.

Why does some web pages only load partially, or not at all?
What we've found is that many web sites continue to bombard you with advertisements, from third party web sites hosted on individual url's; then feed them into the main web site. Because we don't maintain an active list of url-based advertisements, the advertisements are probably blocking from opening.  We do review and un-block url-based advertisements at customer requests, and we encourage everyone to submit requests through our "recommend a site" page.

When I click on a link, the page does load; but I see little message keep popping up that something is being blocked.  I don't know what that is?

Some web sites has numerous unsolicited advertisements that pop up on their web sites.  Our system works as an advertisement pop up blocker, as most people only want the content; not the ads.  On occasion you will see that zigback.com blocks many ads on a single page, and it is possible the page may not load properly.  If this happens, please contact us; so we can look into a solution.

Why do I get a message to request to change my homepage every time I turn it off and on; is this working right?

Yes; your zigback is working properly.  There is a built-in dynamic homepage default feature that, when enabled, temporarily sets your browser home page to open to your account home page.  When you disable your zigback blocker, it returns your browser homepage to its original setting.  If you do not allow this setting to change, your zigback may not function properly.  What if I don't want my browser homepage setting changed?  You have every right not to allow your homepage setting to be changed, and we respect your decision.  If you do not allow your homepage to be temporarily changed, then, for security and system integrity reasons, you will have to disable / enable your zigback; in order to arrive at your account home page..
