Zigback.com was founded by a concerned
parent and a teacher, frustrated with the easy
access kids have to inappropriate content on the internet.
They recognized that the current generation of kids is very savvy,
and it wasn't hard to recognize that not only do kids share web
site information between each other; but they also search various words and
phrases that they hear in music, on the radio, in
conversations, and on television--Anyone with a child, will agree
this is big concern. And if a kid mistypes a search term, or
misspells the url in the browser address bar; there is a strong
possibility this could lead to extremely inappropriate content.

The founders concluded that most parents
want the best for their kids, but they don't always have the time to
manage their kid's Internet use. "What's we need is a
wide-spread virtual environment that allows kids to experience
certain elements of the Internet, while limiting their access to web
sites that could be harmful to them", one founder said--From
this, Zigback.com was born. The zigback blocker is a
small, windows Internet explorer
enhancement that transforms your browser into a virtual environment;
limiting the web sites that can be visited only to those provided on our
"approved web site list". The zigback blocker was designed to
work with our pre-approved list of authorized web sites only, and
any web site that is
not on the approved list; will not load.
What's great about our virtual environment is that parents don't have to
find and research a bunch of kid-friendly web sites for their kids to visit; they
feel very comfortable leaving their kids alone on the computer,
knowing that their internet experience will be safe and healthy.
As a general rule, we allow web sites in our
environment that does not facilitate, promote, or provide access to
illegal, explicit, or socially unacceptable ideas and/or behavior.
Because kids at different ages has different Internet habits and
interest, we have developed Zigback Pro and Zigback Elite to meet
our customers needs. While both Pro and Elite maintains a high
standard for web site access, Elite has been equipped with
MyLinkScheduler; a dynamic tool that gives parents the
ability to schedule access to approved web sites by category, for a
specified day and time. Our growing approved web site includes
the following categories; crossword puzzles, games, music lessons, cartoon videos, learning
to tell time, advanced math, popular game site, research, math
fundamentals, pets and animals, science museums, history museums, child health, sites from UK
& Canada, zoo's and botanical gardens, and more. |
